Johann Trollmann, a German gypsy boxer,was an incredibly telented athlete. Because of his skills he was compared to Muhammad Alì. He wasn't appreciated by the Nazi regime that in 1933 deprived him of the title of "middleweight champion" and began to thwart his career. Because of his Gypsy origins, in 1942 he was deported to a labor camp and exploited as "sparring partner" in boxing matches organized by the SS. In 1944, exhausted and reduced to skin and bones, he raised his head and defeated his SS persecutor, Kapo Emil Cornelius, in a boxing match. The victory cost him his life.
